First Aid For Mental Health – 1-Day Course

FAA Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health (RQF) | SCQF Level 5 Award

This introductory 1-day course provides essential knowledge and practical tools to identify and support individuals experiencing common mental health issues. Ideal for workplaces, schools, and community organisations in Dudley, the West Midlands, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire, it encourages early intervention and helps build a positive culture around mental wellbeing.

Ofqual Regulated

This course teaches you how to recognise early warning signs of mental ill-health, respond using a structured action plan, and guide individuals towards professional support. You’ll gain confidence in talking about mental health while helping reduce stigma and promoting positive culture change.

It’s not counselling — it’s about first response. Just like physical first aid, you’ll learn how to offer reassurance, assess the situation, and help people access the right help.

The First Aid for Mental Health training course is designed for anyone who wants to support wellbeing in their setting. Common roles include:

  • HR professionals, managers, and team leaders.
  • Teachers, pastoral staff, SENCOs, and support workers.
  • Workplace mental health champions and wellbeing leads.
  • Community volunteers, youth leaders, and safeguarding officers.

No prior mental health training is required. Learners must be aged 14 or over.

  • Understanding mental health and the role of a first aider.

Learners must pass both components to receive their qualification.
